A brand new face and attitude!

Hey there people!

It's been ages since I sat down and wrote on the blog. Plenty of stories to tell all of you over the past 6 months. I'm sure you noticed that I changed the blog look. Just to let you guys know it's still under the changing process. Some of my widgets aren't functioning properly like before and some need to be updated. I'll do that once my finals are over next week. By the way those that aren't in the current friends list over to your right-side, please leave your links on the chatbox or on the comments for this post! I lost all of my friend's links after the blog makeover. Thanks in advance guys!

A lot has been happening over the past 6 months that I'm not sure where I should start... Oh! As of the beginning of August I had officially stepped down as the chairperson of Editorial Board. It's been one heck of a ride, but my time in INTI will be over by the end of this semester, which is next week. I passed the club down to Venetia as the new chairperson, as well as handpicked most of the new committee members for Editorial Board. I have high hopes for them to re-lite the fire in the club that was dwindling over the past few months. I think it's gonna be alright. So far I've been playing the role of advisor for the club after the handover, teaching all of them the ropes for one last time before I leave. Editorial Board has been my baby for almost my whole life in INTI. I hope to see it live on even when I'm no longer around.

So far they've made two issues of the newsletter since the handover. I'd have to admit I felt both glad and worried at the same time from seeing the newsletter that they produce. It wasn't like our past issues, that's for sure. But this is the first time that all of them are doing it without most of the senior core members so hopefully they'll spread their wings soon enough and fly with the newsletter up sky high.

On the plus side there seems to be a lot of new faces in the club which I'm happy for them. As they say, the more the merrier. Hopefully with the new semester next year they would be able to pull in more people to join the club.

I feel kind of sad and it was heartbreaking to say goodbye to the club, but life goes on. Our reign, the seniors, are over and it's now time for the juniors to step up to the plate. All I can say is good luck to all of you and strive on!

ED BOARD Seniors and Others Farewell Party!!

Hey Guys and Girls,

Now this took place on Wednesday, 29th of July 2009. The committee of ED BOARD and I wanted to throw a farewell party to the seniors of ED BOARD who were leaving such as Alexis, LP, Han Sen, Suzanne, Han Lim, and our unofficial member, Jonathan hahaha!!

The day started with us finally deciding that we would throw the party at Windmill's Restaurant. We booked the place already, but we failed to realize that Windmill was actually a tad too expensive for our tastes. So we changed the location at the last minute to Manhattan's Fish Market Restaurant. The price was slightly lower than Windmill's, so it was acceptable by everyone.

J.C. and I were the first to arrive and so we booked 20 places for the party. After that we went for a walk around Subang Parade and looked around for a nice cake and some farewell cards. Unfortunately, all of it were too pricey so we had to scrap that plan. Instead, Sie Hui and I came to a conclusion of buying donuts for everyone instead.

Everyone arrived at the Malaysian time of course, which was about half an hour later than what we discussed hahaha!! As the price was quite expensive, most of us ended up sharing our food as the portion was quite big. LP, Sie Hui and I shared one platter which we couldn't even finish it ourselves. And the platter was originally made for two people.
While everyone was eating, J.C. and I went out to get the donuts for everyone. It was a bit of a stretch for the both of us as everyone had not paid for it so we ended up using our own money for it.
When we got back, everyone in the committee asked me to deliver a speech to commemorate the evening. Well, I had no other choice but to do so I guess. The other customers were giving us the stink eyes but who cares! It was our farewell to those who were leaving.
Of course, there were a lot of pictures being taken that night. Too much that I can't post all of it on the blog unfortunately. But I will post some that are quite interesting I'd say such as these!

Oh my gosh this is too hilarious!! Paparazzi shot!
A picture of a picture of a murder taking place haha!!
Grandpa eating style hahaha!!
Table 2 eating pose
Table 1 eating pose
Sizzling hot platter!
Foreplay during dinner!
The bill was more than what we thought. As you can see from the picture, it reached to that extent for 20 people! I guess it's not that bad, but still! After paying the bill we had another cam-whoring session for a little while before we part our ways and went home. We'll miss all of you! A memorable night for us all, especially on the holes on our wallets and purses!

It's Done!!!

Finally, after working our butts off, it's finally done! The newsletter is finally completed with all the errors checked and all that crap. Both LP and I had to play hooky from our student helper work to finish off the newsletter which had a few errors that we kept noticing after every 30 minutes or so.

I owe him dinner after all the work and effort he put in. Oh well~ Cheapo dinner is good enough~ Just kidding ahahah! We are such horrible people. We promised the printing uncle that we would pass everything to him by 2.00pm, okay okay I promised. We ended up giving everything to him at 7.00pm at night so yeah, we are such assholes.

I feel terrible for not doing much work today at the office. Even though I was suppose to have worked for about 7 hours today, I only worked for about 1 hour I think at most? Yeah that was very bad. Oh well, now that the newsletter is over and done with for now, I shall work hard tomorrow for the office to make up for today. Okay, time for dinner!

Guess who's back with a lot of stories?

Hey everyone!!!

Sorry for taking a longer time to update the blog. A lot has happened these past few weeks and I was so busy that I didn't have time to update the blog. Sorry all! Alright, time to update all of you on what's been happening for the past few weeks. Starting off with the finals!

Final Exams

Boy was this a hectic time. My final exams were quite stressful and kind of funny in a way. First, I had my macro economics exam. That was quite okay. I think I can score at least an A- on it. Hopefully, because the essay question was quite hard. I was scared when I was doing the essay question because they were asking for current situations in the U.S. economy and what has the Fed and Obama done to fix it. Crap. Coming from someone who never keeps himself updated with world news, this question was quite hard. But thankfully I did some research a few hours before the exam so I hope that I got it correctly.

After macro econs was over, the next day was history and politics. Yay~ The day that I'd wish I was dead had arrived! Not. Surprisingly I did okay in both exams. I stayed over at LP's house the night before the exam and we studied politics until it was 2.00am. He hit the sack at the time while I stayed up the rest of the night studying for history. For me, my history exam was first before politics and I haven't read a single thing from history yet. So, I spent the whole night stressed out reading history. During the exam, I straight away did the essay and short answer questions first. For history and politics exam, the format was 30 objective questions, 5 short essays, and 1 long essay questions. I worked my way from the back first. The essay questions... I have no idea how I did it but I somehow manage to remember some points and made it long. History is secured I hope. At first I thought that I wouldn't have time to finish up the exam as it was only 2 hours long and we had 6 essay questions to answer like the exam before finals. To my utmost surprise, I finished it with 15 minutes to spare. Woo hoo!

After history was over and done with, I had to study for my politics as I had about 4 hours before the exam starts. I spent about 3 hours reading only 3-5 pages of the politics book. And I had about 200+ pages to study. I was feeling so tired that the information wasn't going through my brain. Correction. It went into one ear and out at the other. I couldn't stand it anymore that I broke the rule that I set myself not to do. I bought a Starbucks coffee! Nooooo! My Mac resolution! But oh well, desperate times call for desperate measures. I only had 1 hour before the exam starts so I had to drink it so sue me! After drinking it, my eyes were wide open and my brain felt very sharp. I took the politics book and started to speed read everything inside. Miraculously, I manage to finish reading everything in that 1 hour.

It was time for the exam. I started it off at the long essay question first. I saw it. Just one line. Explain Bill of Rights. Crap. I was literally afraid that I won't be able to make it long. So I started explaining the Bill of Rights was made by who and who during what time. Then I explained every single amendment inside the Bill of Rights along with examples but I couldn't remember the 10th amendment. Only that it had something to do with the power of congress. Then I noticed that I had wrote about 3 pages full and spent about 45 minutes of the 2 hours on this question alone. Crap! I was scared I won't make it in time with the other questions. Thankfully, every other question that came out after that were things that I had just read a few minutes ago so I remembered everything. I was almost laughing out loud during the exam when I saw those questions! I finished the exam with 30 minutes to spare so I left the exam hall early with a big grin on my face. Conclusion, always drink Starbucks coffee before an exam to keep yourself alert ahahaha! I'm so going to sue the lecturer if she doesn't give me at least a B+ on my politics! My coursework wasn't really great, but it's not that bad either. Weee~ nightmare was over and only one exam left!

CSC was a little bit... difficult in some parts. I did a lot of careless mistakes. I only started reading for CSC about 2 hours before the exam so this was partially my fault. Okay, it was all my fault. Oh well, the exam wasn't so bad though. But I'm still sad as my lecturer already told me my marks for the subject and it was a B+. Nooooooooo! I wanted at least an A- from CSC as my coursework was quite high! Sobs... That was very disappointing... Oh well, it's all over! 2 weeks of freedom before the new semester starts! Woo hoo!!! Yes! Next story!

Sleepover at LP's Place
This happened the night before our politics exam. We both wanted to study more on politics and thought that it was better for us to study together than seperately so that we could help each other out on some parts. Might have been a good idea, or a bad idea if we were to talk all night instead of studying. Anyways, it was getting a little late at college so I accepted his offer and stayed over at his place in Klang. First time I was ever in Klang so yeah, that was fun ahaha!

While we were driving to his place, he was telling me all about the roads in Klang and how many minutes would it take us to pass from one area to the next and we started talking crap again. When we reached his living area, I was going waaaaaaa. It was a really nice neighborhood to live in. It looked like one of those places where a lot of rich people lived in and I was right. Apparently there were quite a few rich and famous corporate people living in that area. I was going like, whoaaaaaaaa this is your house???? His house looked really nice.

At the front lawn he had some Usagi lawn ornaments ahaha. Next to his TV in the living room he had a few Neko figurines. In his kitchen he had some Kuma and Inu comforters on the fridge. They were all soooo kawaii desu~ Yes, I have a weakness for cute things so shut up! Ahahaha! I came to a conclusion that his mom must be an animal lover with all those decorations in the house.

His room was really nice. It was seperated into two rooms actually. One for his bedroom and the other is his computer room I guess. I especially love his bean bag chairs ahahah! I sat on those things all night while I was at his place. It was seriously comfortable and fun to sit in. His computer was just ridiculous. 2 monitors! Man, I so wanted to rob him blind after that ahahahah!

We spent about 3 hours reading on politics while talking about other stuffs as well. Yeah, it was bad for us to talk about other things while we had our finals the next day but we were both very bored! It wasn't a bad decision to sleepover at his place after all. In the end, we did help each other out on some of the things we didn't know so that was good. Didn't get to see much of Klang though since I was only there for that night and we studied our brains out. I'll explore more of Klang the next time I stay over at his place ahaha! Next story!

Student Helper for Info Day
Last Saturday and Sunday, the college needed a few student helpers for Info Day. I got recommended by Avril May Chong to work for Marketing Office. If you're wondering why I call her that, it was a trend started by JC during last semester and has stayed that way even now haha! Anyways, I took the job and started to work for Marketing Office. Woo hoo free T-shirt! It was a rule that all student helpers for Marketing Office would get the new INTI T-shirt and they have to wear it while they work.

I worked in front of the reception area on Saturday, welcoming people who came to INTI. It was a fun job and I got a good exercise from it as after welcoming them, I had to usher them up to the third floor using the lift going up and after that going down using the stairs back to my post. Repeat that process for over 50 times. Trust me, it's a damn good exercise ahahahah!

Sunday on the other hand was a little hectic and was a mental torture. I was working as a tele-marketer for the Marketing Office that day. For 8 hours I had to call random people asking them questions and all that. I had a few parents shout at me, a few people hanging up on me with extensive force, and a few who just said straight flat NO.

That was an interesting experience that I never want to repeat again. I'm going to need therapy after that. And that therapy was a battlefield session with LP and a few other people like Amos, Eugene, JC and many more ahahah! Next story!

ED Board Rush Hour
This was a scary one. The Ed Board rush hour was really exhausting. We started working on the next issue and finished what article titles and theme we wanted for May just last Monday. We needed to start work on the issue ASAP. The issue is going to come out on this coming Thursday for Orientation Day. Yeah. We had about 9 days left to get about 10-13 articles written by the editorial team, designing the layouts and graphics by the design team, and lastly print about 1000 copies for Thursday. Simple right? Let's start panicking people! Yay!

We decided that each of those tasks get only a maximum of 3 days to get everything done. I finished getting the writers to write everything and finished editing some of them yesterday. A few people didn't include any pictures in their article so I had to find some pictures that would fit their article for them. Man was that a tiring job to do.

After finishing up everything, I celebrated myself as my part is done and now it's time for the design team a.k.a LP to start on his work. Hopefully he'll have help this time so he won't do it alone again. I can't wait to see how this issue turns out as we have quite a few interesting articles inside it. Okay enough about work, next story!

INTIMA Conference
Now for the last story for today, the INTIMA Conference! It started yesterday as the other 6 INTI's all over Malaysia came for the conference. The INTIMA Exco's only, not the entire student body. I was asked to be a helper for the event in helping them prepare before the other INTI-ans and Metropolitans arrived.

It was kind of exciting at first when you have something to do, but when you're job is done there's nothing left for you to do. LP was taking pictures during the opening ceremony of the conference while Alexis and I sat on the floor at the back working on our laptops. I was editing some articles and playing facebook while Alexis was listening to her songs and the conference at the same time and started to work on her article.

I wasn't in the conference when the INTIMA's were discussing the issues but from what I heard, it wasn't very productive. Apparently, they're repeating the same issues that has been said by their predecessors before them. That's not a good sign. Other than that I heard that some people from the conference sounded really, really snobbish that it makes you just want to punch their face and say we know already so shut up! Ahhahaah! The conference is still going on today and tomorrow but today and tomorrow is only about fun. They discussed the one year issues in under 2 hours and 30 minutes. Yeah. Not much progress can be made from that. Today and tomorrow is only going to be about getting to know each other, playing some games and having fun. I'm student helper for tonight so we'll see how it goes.

Well, that's all the stories for now to make up for the sabatical that I took a few weeks ago. My holiday seem to mostly revolve on work and INTI so yeah, I practically have no life whatsoever. See ya people!
